Carter & Emma get married and sealed in Ft Collins Temple

"we are here"
Carter & Emma Sargent had a beautiful wedding day and were sealed together. I wanted to thank everyone who helped to make a mega sized memory maker!!
"Love is closer than it appears", I got this quote from Carter & Emma's decorated car. (thanks Jacob & Kamryn!) At the wedding there was a feeling of peace and lots of love and hugs! Thanks to all who came to the party, those who traveled for miles or minutes, and all our old and new besties. Carter surprised me during our mother son dance playing "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper... I love that song, it was awesome!! Scott Sargent for holding my hand as I wiped away tears of joy. Thanks Sperry for always bringing the party!! AND thanks to you for all the notes, well wishes, gifts, kind hugs, and lifting us up when we want to share happiness. Thanks Kris, Wade, Quinn for making it into a roadtrip. And grandma gorgeous, aka grandma Karen, aka my little mommy I love that you could come. Thanks to all our friends who have become family. We love all of you. And I have to mention my thanks for a loving God who knows we all long to be part of a family and makes it possible for us to be sealed to His.
Can I share one last thought. This is a special time for our family. For starters, I have 2 new daughters that I didn't have to go through labor for!! But seriously, I tried to prepare to go to the Temple and be in the moment. I didn't want to miss out on the deep truths that I can find while being in the temple. I wanted my soul to capture a small pinch of the enormity of what an eternal family could feel like. I thought about all the generations of family that Carter and Emma will be sealed with. Then, I thought about all the generations of family from this time forward that Carter and Emma will be blessed to be a part of. When I walked into the Temple, I felt like I heard within my mind "we are here". It was small, peaceful, and almost like a whisper. I could have missed it, but I'm glad I was quite at that time. It was like a wave washed over me and I felt the support of family members who have died but are able to join their joy with ours. Not only was my family being blessed, but think of the family lines that are being blessed with each union carrying on the covenants and the importance of clinging to covenants to future generations. And then I paused, smiled, and continued on with witnessing that our work is special. Supporting the next generation and marinating them in love is so important. It's important to give them hope that only Jesus Christ can give. Truly God exists, because love and peace can be felt no matter what is going on around you. I love that promise from our Savior, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:26–27).

Emma posted this story the day before the wedding:
I wish I could tell 5-year-old Emma she really does grow up to be a princess.
I wish I could tell 10-year-old Emma that she finally finds a best friend.
I wish I could tell 15-year-old Emma that love is real and to be patient.
But 20-year-old Emma knows all those things to be true. I cannot believe tomorrow I will be marrying Carter Sargent.
Carter who taught me love was real.
Carter who is my best friend.
Carter who doesn't make me feel like a princess....but a Queen.
I know marriage isn't going to be easy. I know that after the “I do” it isn't “happily ever after.” But I also know that I have been blessed with a teammate who will fight with me through all the difficulties that lie ahead.
I'm excited and ready to take this next step and let the adventure continue.
And one day perhaps 50-year-old Emma and Carter will be able to tell all the grand tales of a wonderful life together.
March 26th.....A new chapter begins.
