books or Beach & boards??

And, what summer is complete without going to the beach in Ventura: the zipline beach!
We had to get one more day of waves before we go back into school. It's been a busy summer, but we have had a fun crazy time.

Now kids, you have had your fun; time to hit the books!!

It was another family adventure this summer. Downtown LA just outside the jewelry district.
The Clifton place is beautifully decorated like the large sequoia trees we camped around earlier this summer. Here's some picts that we took while we were visiting this "PBS: Huell Howser" must see. The cafeteria was wonderful and had so many choices it was overwhelming. (but in a good way, because it's all food). The prices were really reasonable and the decor of the establishment was wonderful. Sperry loved the indoor waterfall.

It was worth all of the freeway interchanges we had to make before arriving. Go through the valley, hollywood, a touch of pasadena and then head straight into the heart of LA.

We loved it! Great food in a wonderful historic core district of LA. And yes, we parked our cars just like everyone else does...nobody walks in LA.

Roger Dodger...we were there.

We got home from Utah just in time for the Baseball game: LA Dodgers vs Atlanta Braves.

The first pitch was thrown by Elder Perry. There were multiple LDS Stakes in attendance.

Grandma Karen got to attend with us. We had great seats and lots of friends all around us. This year we could actually see the players names on their jerseys!!

Thank goodness Scott didn't leave when I asked him to. The Dodgers pulled of the incredible win the last hit of the night! We saw it with our own eyes.

Utah in a whirlwind

Mt Oqquirrh Temple. The openhouse was wonderful. I guess the kids were so tired of smiling inside the temple, they didn't have much of a smile left when their mom made them "go stand by your grandma and let's take a picture". We all enjoyed it so much, we had to come back into reality by having a McDonalds lunch.

This is the Place Monument Park: we had a wonderful time learning how to make candles, pioneer life, blacksmith were rich and tough in those times. It was all about having animals and a garden and loads of laundry to tend to. There is a minature train that the kids loved as well as horse rides and plenty of Utah history surrounding you. This spot comes very recommended!

Then our cousins clan invaded the good old stomping grounds of American Fork Canyon. There were plenty of cousins to play with and always fun hearing about what life is like in college or high school adventures!

Then up Spanish Fork Canyon for some fishing and 4 wheeling. We know how to do native in Utah. We caught several fish and had a fish cook that night, yum.

We also went swimming with Grandma Sue.Scott attended his 20 YEAR HS Reunion and won "best marriage" category.(just kidding, but he would have if that was a category).

Had princess and Girl time dates.

Saw Grandma Karen in a parade, after 30 minutes we saw cousin Kylie in the same parade. Ate carnie food and rode on rides. Fun family dinners and spent a lot of time with family. Cause, isn't that what it's all about!

Thank you to everyone who made our trip so deliciously wonderful. Teague, we are so happy to see you running about. I'll give you crackers anytime you want!!

Scan for Smiles

Just like when I was a software rep... I've gotta pass along some great tech info (don't fall asleep). If you are looking for a new printer/scanner/all in one I learned all about one yesterday and bought the new: Epson Workforce 600.

I've been waiting for years to be able to scan family history documents quickly and in a format that is easily shared with others. The day has come, and I'm now sounding a little more nerdy that I actually am. This printer is great and surpassed my long list of "must be able to do". You can easily scan legal sized pages, has a multiple page feeder, print duplex, prints color borderless (or bleed), crosses OS platforms, prints directly from camera memory card, handles color and b&w like a dream with high dpi. It can scan directly into Adobe PDF (with text search), is super fast scanning and print as fast as a laser printer. WiFi is an option for this as well. You can snag this on sale for less that $200 and it is "Marci approved". The poor guy who talked with the Epson rep at the store after me simply asked, "will it print directly on an envelope?"
