2010 sooner or later

The quote:
Sooner or later, you start taking yourself seriously.
You know when you need a break. You know when you need a rest.
You know what to get worked up about, and what to get rid of.
And you know when it's time to take care of yourself, for yourself.
To do something that makes you stronger, faster, more complete.
Because you know it's never too late to have a life.
And never too late to change one.
Just do it.

I found this Nike ad about 20 years ago. Back when I enjoyed running, skiing, biking, hiking, laughing, friends, family and dating.
Well, a lot has changed in my life in these past 20 years. For all the changes I am grateful for.  Especially that dating is always with my favorite guy, Mr. 39.  I am grateful that I have the strength and energy to be out of bed, out of the house, and down the street. I am grateful that through weakness I have found strength in the Lord.  I am grateful that I get to be a mom again, involved with my family. Happy to be happy. And, content with the chaos of life.  I'm glad that I found these words that continue to inspire me. Change is good, and a good look at what those changes have brought...even better. Just do it 2010.

Jacob's Sayings

When we were outlining our family Christmas gift exchange this year between siblings, we decided that the price of a gift should be anywhere between $5 and $10.  Jacob said, "You have to spend at least $5 because anything under $5 isn't giving; it's garbage".
- It was hard, we ran out of cereal… well except for Kashi and that really is hamster food... and the last week we've had to eat for breakfast what my mom made.
-Jacob explaining to Carter what a birthmark is, "It's proof that you came here by birth, not by an alien or a stuffed animal coming to life." The boys started laughing at the thought of a stuffed animal, like Elmo coming alive.
-Scott got an old style shaving brush for Father's Day.  Jacob picked it up and asked, "Is this old man hair. It feels like old man hair that they made into a shaving brush".
-Mom, I've finally figured out what I'm allergic too. I'm allergic to work, see when I'm playing outside I'm fine; but as soon as I come into the house to work, I start sneezing.
-Have you ever noticed that most of our movies are educational! -You have to get us the channel with SpongeBob Squarepants. First, because it's funny.  Second…because we have no idea what everyone is talking about at school.

Carter's Sayings

-During his piano lesson, Carter said, "I've played this song so much that I sound like a professional!"

-After looking in the toy department, "Fisher Price! I am so over Fisher Price! I am much older than that now, I'm almost a grown man."
-This calculator is very smart. I just asked it what 2,943 X 135 is and it gave me an answer!!
-Carter was to tell Sperry that he was sorry.  He said in a very low mumble something we couldn't hear.  When I asked him to repeat the apology he said, "Mom, we are not into saying nice words".
-During our Phone call training, Carter answered the phone, "Hello, Carter's hot dog's what hot dog would you like to order."
-Right after Carter was baptized, you could see his big grin and he pumped his fist into the air. He was so excited he almost started swimming to the side of the baptismal font.
-Jacob, you have to invite me to your party because I'm your Bro!"
-"I am the most expensive kids in my class".  I asked him what he meant by that,  "I mean that I would pay over a million dollars for myself.
-Mom, I have a really big brain because one of my friends at school has xray glasses and that is what he saw.

Sperry's Sayings

-Mom, black widows are my favorite spiders. I just love them so much and this is now my favorite library book. I'm going to check it out every time to freak you out mom!
-Now we have 6 people in our family.  Mom, Dad, Jacob, Carter, me and our little Fawna.  Fawna now has a mom and dad with a big family! Oh, Fawna is my little cuttie pie baby angel.

-Family, today is the last day you will see me for a while.  Tomorrow I am going to Paris France".  When we asked her why she was going she said, "I'm not sure".
-Mom, I want to buy gum and a book with my money.  Now I'm all out of my money and that's the saddest story I've ever heard.
-Carter asked Sperry to pick up the papers she "littered" on the ground.  She replied, "It's not Earth Day Carter!!"
