U-in ... well are U ??

Are U-in?? Ok, I think only my husband knows THIS secret of mine, but as I saw this picture today I had to share this. I am a trucker girl at heart. I've got a secret obsession with old, restored trucks. I don't know why: it might be nostalgic, it might be a desire to turn our focus to good old fashioned values, or it might be the appreciation of something that is still running after all these years.

Growing up, we had an old truck that held our "piggyback" camper. I loved the days of when it was our little getaway, just for us kids. We would play cards, hang out in the hammock and take snacks to devour. We only took it camping a few times, but in my opinion it paid for itself when it was on our yard. I've always thought they looked cool and loved the new paint jobs that brought new life into these old cars. Lovingly restored with white walls and all. This is a note of encouragement...my wish for you is to
"keep on truckin". Going forward on the difficult days, appreciating those little moments that will soon age, appreciating things restored. Now you are in the "trucker" club, welcome.

Sumz it up

I went to Carter's classroom and found the best description of Carter I've ever seen. Well, of course he wrote it, who else would be the expert... but I was amazed at how well the boy understands who he is and what makes him tick. He's older now that the "baby at beach" picture, but it's so darn cute pict of him, I had to include it. Gotta share his self analysis, that Sumz him all up:

Getting better

I guess I should have warned my kids that as I continue to build my strength, their lives might change.
In my view it changes for the better...but they might say that their workload has increased.
I'm getting my energy back and some strength returning, very grateful to our Loving Father in Heaven who hears and answers prayers. His timing isn't always immediate, but things work for the better as we learn during the tough times. I could write on and on about the blessings and miracles I've seen recently. It leaves me with a very grateful heart.

So, kids...get ready, your mommy is getting better. And yes, the house might be getting a little cleaner and more put together. But, this means we can also do things together (outside, after our work is done). I love being on the "come back" after my long sabbatical. I think I finally understand how to better balance the most important, letting some of the unimportant slip away. Now, those are big girl words. Well, I am almost 41 you know~
