- Get rid of "what was that" in your fridge. Buy a clear plastic storage bit that will fit in your fridge and act as an extra drawer. It can easily be pulled out and jars can now be reached. I also use these "drawers" in my cupboards for cans.
- Books-a-go go. Keep plenty of books in your car. Including books on CD. We all love to listen to the Geronimo Stillton series. You can get it off Amazon.
- I can see clearly now...Few drops of Joy dish soap and water in a squirt bottle can glisten the windows and mirrors. Also, store all your toiletries under the sinks in all your bathrooms. This opens up valuable space in your hall closets and gets stuff where needed.
- Drowning in paper. Kids school artwork can be stored under their beds in a long plastic storage bin. When you are ready they can be scanned and made into a little "school days" slide show.
- Feast or famine? Pack lunch for all your kids in the morning (even those who don't attend school yet). It saves time and is ready to be eaten in the car during errands for the non-schoolers.
- Never empty. Fill up your car with gas when it reaches half full. You'll be prepared to drive a few hours during an emergency and never have to panic about that pesky light.
- One smart cookie. Cook ahead to save time. Brown hamburger for spag, tacos, beef stroganoff. Crock pot chicken breasts; shred some, cube others for multiple meals. Examples: cube for soups, chicken salad, sweet & sour, curry. Shred for BBQ chicken salad, chicken pot pie, tacos. You can freeze cooked rice as well.
- mmmmm...Get a dutch oven! Don't be afraid to use it on the stove top. It's excellent for browning meat quickly with the lid on. You can use it in the oven (baking bread or chicken), or even directly on campfire. Easy to clean, just scrub without soap. Then season it again with a little oil.
- Kid power. Ask your kids what they want to do as a family during the summer. Then take out a calendar and start to pencil in the activities. Kids have great & fun ideas.
- Whistle while you work. Clean out and organize, while listening to some fun music. Reduce the amount of stuff that you hang on to year after year. Donate or pass along to friends. You will love the extra "space" and wont miss the "waste".
Where are your ideas? I want to hear from you. Name at least one thing that helps you.
